Antares

This is recreational sailing, we're not here to suffer

Colors

A small selection of pictures from the 2024 season. The year was full of beauty for the exe, full of light and color

On one of the last summer's days, I took the Canon with the 70-200mm lens onto the dinghy and rounded Antares a few times. Especially her girthy hull was always something that I liked a lot.

Sunrises and sunsets at sea are amazing, albeit I mostly only see the latter. The last sunlight dips the world into a color palette that the camera can't really reproduce.

This year, the spinacker came out it's bag for the first time, though only in extremely low wind, predominantly due to my cautious position and lack of experience. Sailing with the spinacker is a bit more tricky, especially hoisting and dropping it is work for two pairs of hands.

This weekend, the 2024 season comes to a close. At least the biggest part. I will sail Antares back to Lübeck where she will stay two, maybe three weeks in the Passathafen. October can still have a few beautiful days. End of October, Passathafen also closes down and I'll sail back to Marina am Stau, where I'll probably haul out.

This video was shot on the 30th of October 2022, maybe I'll be so lucky again.
